  1. Wash and soak dal in hot water for 5 minutes.
  2. Add chopped onion, tomatoes, bottlegourd, soaked dal, turmeric powder, ginger and 2 cups of water in cooker.
  3. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or till mushy.
  4. Take off flame and allow it to cool down naturally.
  5. In a big pan heat coconut oil, let splutter mustard seeds, add red chilli and cumin seeds.
  6. Add curry leaves, green chilli and stir.
  7. Add asafoetida, red chilli powder, cooked dal mixed veggies, salt.
  8. Add sufficient water, allow it boil finely.
  9. Check salt, adjust it, then add Jaggery.
  10. Bring it to boil for 5 minutes in low flame.
  11. Add lemon juice, take off flame, stir once and serve in hot.
