- Take 1 Brinjal medium
- Get 1/2 cup Arhar Dal
- Make ready 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

Steps to make Sambhar rice:
- Coat the drumsticks with salt and turmeric powder, and cook in a pressure cooker until 2 whistle blows off.
- In a pressure cooker add dal, chopped Vegetables, turmeric powder and salt. Cook the Sambhar until 4 whistles.
- Optional- whisk the Sambhar if you want smashed vegetables.
- Add the boiled drumsticks to the boiled Sambhar.
- Tempering- heat oil in a pan, add oil. Then add mustard seeds, methi seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida, coriander seeds, red chillies and tomato.
- Cook until tomatoes gets soft, add Sambhar masala and red chilli powder and mix well. Then add to the boiled Sambhar.
- Heat the Sambhar and add jaggery after a boil, mix and let the Sambhar boil for 2minutes.
- Serve with steamed rice, curd/chachh and papad.
