  13. Get 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  14. Make ready As per taste Salt
  15. Take as required Jaggery

You can replace my rasam powder with store bought rasam powder too. This can be made with few variations too, which I always do. Hot rasam, hot rice plus ghee - heavenly combination. Rasam is a south Indian soup which is eaten with rice.

Steps to make Rasam:
  1. In a cooker add toor dal, 2 chopped tomatoes. Pressure cook and smash it once it is cool. Keep it aside.
  2. Take a mixer jar, add 4 cloves garlic, one pinch ginger, one spoon jeera, one spoon pepper, coriander, 3 green chillies, few tomato pieces Grind coarsely.
  3. Take a pan. Add oil, mustard, curry leaves, crushed garlic, then masala, fry for a min then add mashed dal, tamarind extract, salt and jaggery. Bring to a boil.
  4. Finally add green coriander and serve.

Hot rasam, hot rice plus ghee - heavenly combination. Rasam is a south Indian soup which is eaten with rice. It is a delicious soup and is very light and good for fevers, coughs and cold.
