Rasam is one of the most favored of recent trending meals in the world. It’s appreciated by millions every day. It is simple, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. Rasam is something that I have loved my whole life. They are fine and they look fantastic.

Rasam recipe - Simple, easy & quick recipe to make delicious rasam at home. Also known as saaru in Kannada and chaaru in Telugu, rasam is a most basic and essential dish in a South Indian meal. Rasam normally forms the second course in a traditional south Indian menu. There are various way of preparing it.

To get started with this recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook rasam using 12 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Rasam:
  1. Take 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
  2. Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric pwder
  3. Get As per taste Salt
  4. Take 1 Tomato
  5. Get As required Coriander leaves
  6. Prepare Few Curry leaves
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  8. Prepare 2 pieces Tamarind
  9. Prepare 1 tsp Whole pepper
  10. Take 2 - 3 Garlic cloves
  11. Get 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  12. Get 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds

You can replace my rasam powder with store bought rasam powder too. This can be made with few variations too, which I always do. Hot rasam, hot rice plus ghee - heavenly combination. Rasam is a south Indian soup which is eaten with rice.

Instructions to make Rasam:
  1. While the pan is hot. Heat up the oil add in the mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds add in the curry leaves and fry for a minute.
  2. In a jar add the garlic cloves, whole pepper and the cumin seeds mix everything until fine paste.
  3. In another bowl add the tamarind and one full tomato let it rest in one cup of water for one hour. After that add in coriander leaves and 2 green chilli, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt and mix well.
  4. Mix well and close the lid and serve.

Hot rasam, hot rice plus ghee - heavenly combination. Rasam is a south Indian soup which is eaten with rice. It is a delicious soup and is very light and good for fevers, coughs and cold.
