  2. Make ready 1 cup methi cut
  3. Get 1 Big potato
  4. Prepare 3 tomatoes
  5. Take 2 cloves
  6. Get 1 inch cinnamon
  7. Get 1 Bay leaf
  8. Get 2 cardamoms
  9. Take 4 Black pepper powder
  10. Take 1 tsp shahi jeera(cumin seeds)
  11. Prepare 2 Big onions chopped
  12. Take 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  13. Take 2 tsp chilli powder
  14. Prepare 1 tsp chicken masala
  15. Make ready 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  16. Make ready 1 tsp coriander powder
  17. Take as needed Oil
  18. Make ready Handful Coriander leaves
  19. Prepare as needed Water
  20. Make ready to taste Salt

Lightly spiced Aloo Methi is a popular Indian style stir fry made with potatoes and fresh fenugreek leaves. This Aloo Methi was quite a winter staple in my home and is best enjoyed with flatbread like roti. I don't see fresh methi leaves (fenugreek) very often here in the market. As i mentioned in my Holi lunch menu post,here is the yummy aloo methi recipe ie,Potato with fenugreek leaves which is a great side dish for roti and rice.

Steps to make Methi Aloo wala Chicken curry:
  1. Heat oil in a kadai and trow in all the spices (clove, cardmom, bayleaf, cinnamon, black pepper, jeera). When good aroma comes, Add in the Chopped prions and stir them to golden brown.
  2. Once they have browned golden, add the ginger garlic paste and give a good stir until the raw smell goes off. Add the washed chicken and potatoes to it and let them turn white.
  3. Once the chicken turn white add the curry powders (chilli, coriander, turmeric, chicken masala). Let it roast for few minutes and then Add the washed methi chopped and cook till water is absorbed frm methi.
  4. Grind the tomatoes to a paste and add the paste to the chicken mixture in kadai and let it cook for sometime. Add required water as per gravy required and switch off the flame once they start boiling. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve them with rotis or rice.

I don't see fresh methi leaves (fenugreek) very often here in the market.
