Raw mango rice, prepared in south Indian way, a perfect variety rice that can simply made in mango season. I had the recipe in a recipe book by Ramani Chandran called "Rani samayal." Raw mango rice or Maangai sadam is my fav. I love all tangy rice varieties like puliyodharai,lemon rice etc. I love this rice with little sweet taste so I always choose slightly ripe mango 🙂.

  1. Grind the ingredients without adding water.
  2. Heat kadai and add the ingredients to temper.
  3. Now add the grinded paste and grated raw mango to kadai.
  4. Add turmeric powder, salt and mix well to evenly spread.
  5. Add the boiled rice and mix well so that the paste will be evenly spread in the rice.

I love all tangy rice varieties like puliyodharai,lemon rice etc. I love this rice with little sweet taste so I always choose slightly ripe mango 🙂.
