Beef biryani is a popular Indian and Pakistani dish that is fairly easy to make.

The ingredients needed to make Beef Biryani:
  1. Prepare 1/2 kg beef
  2. Make ready 4 large potatoes
  3. Take 4 eggs hardboiled
  4. Get 6 cloves garlic
  5. Prepare 1 root ginger
  6. Make ready 3 tomatoes blended
  7. Take 1 green bell cubed
  8. Get Whole pilau spice coarsely ground
  9. Take 1 tbsp pilau mix
  10. Make ready 1 tbsp cummin
  11. Take 1 tsp paprika
  12. Take 1 tsp black pepper
  13. Get 1 tsp turmeric powder
  14. Take to taste Salt
  15. Get Juice of half a lemon
  16. Prepare 1 & 1/2 cup buttermilk
  17. Get 4 large onions, sliced
  18. Get 1 large carrot grated and coarsely blended
  19. Prepare 1 kg per washed soaked rice, (4 cups)
  20. Get 4 cups warm water

The fragrant rice and the tender spicy beef make a perfect marriage in this superb dinner recipe. Instructions to make Beef Biryani:
  1. In a frying pan,over medium heat, add oil then fry the onions to a nice golden brown. Don't overcook or let burn, the overall meal will be bitter.
  2. Peel and cut potatoes into halves, coat them with food gel the fry using the same oil.
  3. In a sause pan, add some 4 tbsp of oil (same oil we've been using) to it add the frehly ground whole pilau spice, sauté (DO NOT LET ANYTHING BURN)
  4. Add the crushed ginger and garlic, sauté until the raw smell is dispelled. Add cumin and ground pilau mix. Mix everything up then add the beef and juice if half a lemon. Give it a good mix and cover about a minute or so.
  5. Add the carrots (I'm using carrot as a substitute for raw papaya), mix then add the blended tomatoes and tomato paste. Give it a good mix and cover about 3 minutes.
  6. Next, add in the green bell pepper pepper, salt, paprika, turmeric powder and black pepper, mix well then add in the buttermilk. Mix to incorporate then cover for another 3-5 minutes.
  7. Add your hard boiled eggs, potatoes and onions. Mix well, at this point you can taste for seasoning and adjust accordingly.
  8. Cover and let cook over low heat for about 1 hour, checking occasionally so that it doesn't burn.
  9. Meanwhile, in another pan, add some oil and let it heat over medium heat.
  10. Add the soaked rice, and stir immediately. Then add salt to taste and 3 and 3/4 cups of the warm water. Mix to break any lumps then cover and let cook
  11. In the remaining 1/4 cup of warm water, add some food gel, and mix well.
  12. When the water in the rice is almost all dry, drizzle the 1/4 cup of remaining water mixture, then cover and let cook there is no more liquid left.
  13. Turn the heat to low and allo the rice to steam for about 5 minutes.
  14. The meal is ready to serve. Enjoy it with some nice homemade hot sauce and salad or as it is. Enjoy!

Remove the fried beef and allow the excess oil to drain on clean paper kitchen napkins. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, corriander powder, cardamoms, bay leaves and half the black peppercorns.
