She is French so I believe this is a French Meat Pie.

I have saved this recipe and will continue the old tradition of meat pies for Thanksgiving and New Years Eve. Some time ago, when I was working at a newspaper, a co-worker happened to bring a meat pie for lunch.
Steps to make Meat pie:
- For the dough; - In a bowl,add flour,salt,Maggie,baking powder mix and add the butter/oil mix until the flour look like bread crumbs,add the water gradually and mix until dough is formed,knead for 3-5mins cover and let it rest for 15-20mins.
- FOR THE FILLINGS; - In a pan,preheat the oil,add the chopped onions and scotch bonnet, fry for 2mins add mincedmeat and seasonings,cook for 3mins and add the chopped carrot and potatoes,add 1/2cup water,cover and let it cook till the irish and carrot are soft.
- In a bowl add 1tbsp flour plus 1/4cup water mix and pour into the fillings, low the heat and let it cook for another 4-5mins and off the heat. Roll out the dough and cut into round shape add the fillings and cover use folk to flip the edge.
- Grease butter on a baking pan and spread some flour,arrange the meatpie on the pan,whisk the egg, using Kitchen brush, egg wash the meatpie and bake on 180°C for 10-15mins or more.
I have saved this recipe and will continue the old tradition of meat pies for Thanksgiving and New Years Eve.
